Without any doubt, down is the world’s best insulator. It comes from the light, fluffy under-coatings that keeps geese, ducks and other waterfowl warm. Each ounce of down has about 2 million fluffy filaments that interlock and overlap to create pockets of still air. It’s those pockets of air that insulate. Down provides approximately three times the warmth per ounce as synthetics insulators creating a significantly lighter and warmer product and when cared for properly, a high quality down will last for generations. Canada Goose uses proprietary blends of premium down which have been developed through 50 years of experience. All of our down blends combine the finest Hutterite goose down and Canadian down to achieve superior insulation and protection.
